We have a winner!!!

First of all I have to apologize for not announcing this earlier. Life got in the way... I have been really busy with work (my day job) and with nova so the weekend was packed. And I am happy to say that I've gotten back into biking. Did 16 miles on Saturday and I biked to work today, 12 miles one way! YAY..

I'm sure you're all thinking enough already. We don't care about your biking we just wanna know who won! Ok, calm down. I am getting to that exciting part in a second. First I want to say thank you to all of you playing and I wish I could give a pair of flowers to all you lovely ladies... But there can be only one winner. So I took all your names down and made multiple copies (for you who did multiple entries) and put it all in a little basket... I would take a photo of it & me when I pulled the name, but honestly I looked like a hot mess after all that biking so I thought I would spare you...

So the winner of the Growing Flower Earrings is:
TAA DAA (or however you spell it) k. o'brien
That's right lady! All your hard work paid off. You are the lucky lady that wins the earrings. Congrats!!! Just send me a convo through Etsy and let me know your address and I will have these babies in the mail for you in no time...

Etsymetal Charmswap 4 Final round!

Had to give my little pinwheel that black look on the inside. So I took a tiny, tiny, tiny paint brush and painted on the patina. Turned out pretty cool if I may say so!
So here we go, 22 pinwheel charms from little me. I've packaged them all up and sent them out on their new adventures. Good Luck little fellows!

Tip toeing through the tulips

I am actually making a ring just for me! With a willow creek jasper that is so sweet, with beautiful pink and yellow tones. I still have to file and sand all around the edges of the petals and also do my first attempt to flush set. Yep, wish me luck. Figured it was better to take photos now before I completely mess it up ;o)

Etsymetal Charmswap 4 Round 2

Snip, snip, file file and bend bend... Boy am I not finished yet?
My poor little fingers are sore from making all 'em little pinwheels.

Soldered my little pinwheels to the balled pins I made earlier... Tedious business :o)

And then I soldered all 'em pinwheels to my little cups. Added a little flower on the back. Figured pinwheels and flowers go hand in hand. At least that's where I was when I was little playing with them - outside with the flowers.
Straight out of the pickle pot. Yuck they look gross!
File, file, file.... Who knew there could be so much work with these little buggers? Ha I guess I forgot to multiply the work with 22!

Ahhh that's better. Shiny shiny right out of the tumbler.. and yeah I soldered a little jump ring to them and then I'll add another open 16 g jump ring.

YAY! Look at that little fellow. He's spinning cause he's so happy. But he's not done! Still a little more work to be done :o) Got to add some black to those pinwheels. I just have to! It wouldn't feel right otherwise.. So that is on the agenda for wednesday (sorry busy with beer and after work tomorrow). But the plan is to ship them out on Thursday!

Etsymetal Charmswap 4 Round 1 (again)

at first I tried an enameled design but after spending a whole day working on them (it was HOT in the studio) only a couple of 22 charms survived :o( So I decided that it was a sign that I should something that is more "me". And what is more "me" than pinwheels?

That's right I'm making a little design with a pinwheel. Hopefully if it all works out the inside of the domed copper disk will hold a little pinwheel that spins if you blow on it. That is if it all works out... I have all my little pieces made and they are ready to be put together..

And this is what the back will look like. Haven't decided on the patina yet. I'll do something with them, just not sure what yet. I am not crazy about shiny copper and you can get some nice colors with liver of sulfur. Or at least that aged look... So this is what I am working on today. Wish me luck!

These babies spin. Boy do the spin!

Sterling silver pinwheel studs! They are small, comfortable and supercute! Not sure how I feel about someone blowing at your ear though...

A smaller version of my Sterling Silver Pinwheel necklace. This one spins if you blow on it, versus the larger version that couldn't really do that.
Taadaa! Sterling Silver Pinwheel ring.. Oh boy is this fun to play with when you're stuck in boring meetings at work.
And I also upgraded my old Pinwheel earrings so that they now can spin when you blow on them. The more spinning the more fun, right?!
I've had these mapped out in my head forever but never got around making them! I feel like my pinwheel family is more complete now!

New Colored Mini Bean Sprouts and colored dish drop studs!

I've been meaning to add some color to my mini bean sprouts forever. I just haven't got around to it. Until now! They come in the same colors as my small dish studs and I think they look so cute!

I am also introducing this new design; the Dish Drop Earring. It just love the shape of it. That pretty curve and a little explosion of color at the end.

Coral Reef Necklace

So I did manage to get one big piece finished on my vacation. It's quite the statement piece. I am quite happy with how it turned out. I love the patina. Those blues, magentas and gold are to die for. I have this fascination with the ocean lately and its definitely showing in this Coral Reef Necklace. What do you think?

I was in a car accident..

So on Friday I got hit by another car. Totally not my fault, he drove into me. He was actually in MY lane. So my poor little car got a big dent in the front passenger door and in the panel next to the wheel. It was pissing down rain and we're blocking traffic. They guy gets out of his white car and point towards a parking lot (which happens to be the lot for David's studio space, which were my destination anyway) and asks if we can go there. I have never in my entire life been in a car accident so I think I was pretty shocked. I just nodded and started my car. I pulled up to the parking lot and David come's out of his studio. I tell him what happened and says the guy is coming here. David calls the cops and goes looking for the guy. He is of course no where to bee seen. He must have been laughing all the way home. I feel like such an idiot. I guess it is just a lesson learned..

Sales have been good this weekend though so hopefully I'll be able to get the money for the part I have to pay through my insurance to get it fixed. It just sucks. I hate dishonest people. I hope Karma comes and bites you in the ass mister!
