winter glow and other goodies

Finished up a custom midsummer ring for a lovely lady. She turned out really beautifully. I kissed her goodbye and put her in her lovely box. Tomorrow she will be on her way to her new home!

A gorgeous stone. What can I say? It needed some 14k rose gold to hold it company. It's another Autumn window. A smaller window. But still a window. I can see the sun from where I am sitting... can you? She is a size 6. Look for her in my shop tomorrow.

Winter Glow. I had these memories of snow from Sweden. Beautiful snow that is anything but white. This porcelain jasper is a good substitute for snow. Except you can't make the little snowball lanters out of her. So I made them out of silver instead and flush set a rhodolite (instead of the usual tealight) on top to spread the light in the winter evening. She is a size 7 and if you've fallen in love I suggest that you come and see her in my shop tomorrow.

and now I am off to snuggle up with a wonderful (and fever free) boyfriend and two little kitties that insist that the best place to sleep is in between David and yours truly. Which is of course absolutely correct!

Godnatt!

What's life without a little bit of romance?

When I first started dating David it was like a whole new world just opened up. In Sweden we don't really date... and no offense to Swedish guys but they don't know how to treat a lady!! David will pull out chairs and still after 4 years he will always open my car door before getting into the car. I know it's rare and trust me I do appreciate it. It's so important and I hope that any guy who reads this will make an extra effort in treating his lady like the lady she is. Cause we love it.

I am probably the most independent strong willed opinionated woman you will ever meet but with simple gestures like that you will make my knees week.. So I want to say thank you to all you wonderful guys out there. You guys are amazing!

in honor of romance!
My Romance necklace with the most amazing crazy lace agate!

and my romance ring with a birds eye ryolite jasper.

I hope you like them :o)

A lovely necklace for a lovely lady

I got a custom order that I have been working on and I just finished it last night. I do hope she will love it. It's got a stunning Porcelain Jasper cabochon bezel set and 2 garnets flush set.

She can wear it this way....

Or this way...

I opened up the back to expose some more of that beautiful porcelain Jasper.

Taa daa!

The fruits of my labor

So after all that time in the studio these are the babies I made. I hope you'll like them as much as I liked making them. I feel so inspired by everything around me and by all the positive feedback I've been getting from all of you. Today My dandelion ring made it to the front page. I felt so proud seeing her up there. Now I just wanna get back in the studio and keep creating!

Fall flower ring. I'm happy to say this one found a home already.

Sun Rising ring. The stone is beautiful. It's the first piece I've made with a Botswana Agate.

Shy fairy necklace. I like the simplicity of this one.

Northern Lights ring. With a beautiful Laguna Agate.

Autumn Window ring. My favorite. Like a little painting.

Exhausted but excited!

I realized summer is over.. And I missed it again. Look at my little plant. It is so sad. Next year I will grow more plants. And I will take better care of them. And I can't believe my birthday is in 4 days. Gulp. I think I will just turn 30 again. At least that's felt like something to celebrate..

well it's past 1am and I have to get up in 5 hours. I've been working on a custom necklace and then I wanted to finish another midsummer ring that I've had in the works. It was fighting back and let's just say that I finally won :o)

Here's a late night photo of My second Midsummer ring. Rocky Butte Jaspe with 7 garnets. Now isn't that something to be excited about? It's a size 8 3/4 cause I realized that I've been secretly making all my rings for myself (me being around size 6). So this one is for you lovely ladies to fight over :o) . Keep an eye out, it will be making an appearance in my shop tomorrow (Wednesday).

Until then. Goodnight I'm off to a sleeping David and 2 sleeping kitties. Hmm I wonder if there is any room for me?

Midsummer nights.. first ring..

I finished the first one! My midsummer night ring with citrines. I've already had some interest in it so you better hurry if you wanna snag it. This baby is a size 6! It's listed in my Etsy shop!

*EDIT*

On boy that was fast! This baby has found a new lovely home! Stay tuned for the next one... I do have another midsummer ring up my sleeve..

Hear the dandelion roar!

I was in the zone... for 8 hours straight I couldn't put down my torch. I needed to make my visions real. I just kept going and going. It was beautiful! I put them all in the tumbler but then I realized that you might want a sneak peak of what's coming... so I pulled them out and took some photos for you. Tomorrow I will oxidize and set stones. My favorite part.

Sunday Sniffles and Little Flowers

Oh what a day... Been feeling terrible, coming down with a bad cold. *Sniffles*
But I did manage to work on some new things between blowing my nose..

I just finished this necklace and it's already dark outside... I'll have to wait until tomorrow to take photographs. I already have a story behind this necklace and I know where I want to take the photos. There is a little trail by the river just by our house. I'll head there tomorrow and then back to list it!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Wedding gifts..

My dear friend Nicole is getting married this weekend. And I am going to her wedding in Atlanta! So I decided to skip the usual gifts and made something for them that they can keep forever! I made a pair of cuff links for David and a necklace for Nicole. You can see the whole (well almost) process on my Flickr. I really hope they'll like their gifts!

Tip toeing through the tulips Taa Daa!

Lisa smelled the flowers. She said they smelled good, but I don't think she was too impressed by the ring.. She just wanted me to scratch her.. It's a little rougher looking than what I wanted but hey you got to start somewhere! I managed to flush set 2 citrines (and stabb myself in the finger while doing it) and overall I am very happy to wear this baby on my finger.. Now I need to make some more goodies so you can have a chance to snag one :o)

Tip toeing through the tulips

I am actually making a ring just for me! With a willow creek jasper that is so sweet, with beautiful pink and yellow tones. I still have to file and sand all around the edges of the petals and also do my first attempt to flush set. Yep, wish me luck. Figured it was better to take photos now before I completely mess it up ;o)

Etsymetal Charmswap 4 Round 2

Snip, snip, file file and bend bend... Boy am I not finished yet?
My poor little fingers are sore from making all 'em little pinwheels.

Soldered my little pinwheels to the balled pins I made earlier... Tedious business :o)

And then I soldered all 'em pinwheels to my little cups. Added a little flower on the back. Figured pinwheels and flowers go hand in hand. At least that's where I was when I was little playing with them - outside with the flowers.
Straight out of the pickle pot. Yuck they look gross!
File, file, file.... Who knew there could be so much work with these little buggers? Ha I guess I forgot to multiply the work with 22!

Ahhh that's better. Shiny shiny right out of the tumbler.. and yeah I soldered a little jump ring to them and then I'll add another open 16 g jump ring.

YAY! Look at that little fellow. He's spinning cause he's so happy. But he's not done! Still a little more work to be done :o) Got to add some black to those pinwheels. I just have to! It wouldn't feel right otherwise.. So that is on the agenda for wednesday (sorry busy with beer and after work tomorrow). But the plan is to ship them out on Thursday!
